Waistband

With the pants inside out, turn down the waistband the amount specified in your step-by-step instructions. Press and baste in place. |

| Next, turn back the waistband. Turn under the edge 1/4" and baste in place. |

| Turn back the waistband. Stitch close to the lower edge of the casing. |

Open the casing at the inside seam. Attach a safety pin to the end of your elastic, and use the pin to guide the elastic through the casing. Stitch the two pieces of elastic together, and stitch the casing closed by hand.
