This site is designed to teach basic sewing skills to people with little to no experience. Detailed instructions illustrated with real pictures will take you step-by-step through the process of creating a skirt or a pair of pants with an elastic waistband.

In the process, you'll learn the following skills:

• Straight Stitch
• Zig-Zag Stitch
• Pattern Use
• Waistbands
• Hems

You will be able to apply these skills to just about anything you want to make - curtains, pillows, baby clothes, etc.

While this site is designed as a supplement for students taking a class in person, it should contain enough information for you to follow along with the class and make a skirt or a pair of pants on your own.
